PUSHIM x IN-SIST - "Don't stop"
Interview & text by Hiromi Go

Don't stop, keep going on forever -- Fresh encounter between soul and spirit, love and groove! Gorgeously collaborated drama of passion never stops!!

"We originally loved PUSHIM and like to listen to her songs while traveling on tour to relax or to elevate our moods. So, we were very excited to hear this collaboration would come true." (SHYOU)

"As a singer, I was honored to be asked by IN-SIST to collaborate on this project. I was so happy and at the same time excited. This encounter would lead to the discovery of a new part of me I have not yet known – good anticipations just kept on coming." (PUSHIM)

In that way, the collaboration between PUSHIM and IN-SIST started with the exact "Don't stop"-feeling, having finally borne fruit with the release of the single "Don't stop." PUSHIM is the No. 1 reggae singer who requires no explanation. Escorting the queen is IN-SIST, a five piece hip hop band consisting of 2 MCs of BASI and Sakkon, TAKU (guitar), SHYOU (bass) and TAROW-ONE (drums). Its first collaborative single series, "I don't know" with Chara (Japanese female singer-songwriter) released last October, enjoys a reputation as an insert song for the popular film "Terrace House: Closing Door" and is about to be sold out. The second in the series "Don't stop" also comes in a limited edition of 7 inch-disc containing 4 tracks.

Of course, as PUSHIM says, "The results were better than I expected," the collaboration produced significant results, which seep out of the title track "Don't stop" in a sexy way. The performance that weaves stylish loops, intertwined with soulful singings and MCs, is just as cool and emotional as it can be! Such good vibes are also abundant in IN-SIST's "90's Nights," a comfortable piece which seems to mesmerize listeners even if they are not of their generation who spent their youth in the 90s. Included as the last track following IN-SIST BAND's "NS5~Interlude~" with the atmosphere of a live show inserted in is "Dear -PUSHIM×IN-SIST ver-," a newly-recorded version of "Dear," featuring PUSHIM, included on IN-SIST's 2013 album "HIPSTORY." Listening to her unconstrained singing wafting through the acoustic groove would make you feel as if it were an original song written for her.

"When we first met for the recording, we were impressed not only by her wonderful singing but also by her bright, gentle, strong, and cute characteristics, which is exactly what we'd imagine from PUSHIM's music." (SHYOU)

IN-SIST is now working on a new album. Considering what they have done so far, we can't help but put high hopes on the upcoming album!
