Tatsuo Sunaga "World Standard.09"

The latest release of his signature "World Standard" mix CD series in 5 years from DJ and producer, Tatsuo Sunaga, a.k.a. the 'Record Bancho (Mr. King-of-Vinyls)' (due to his devoted passion and knowledge about vinyls). Using jazz as the medium but sticking to a non-genre interpretation of performance, the album is striking in the way more techy and minimal tracks are embraced than ever and one cannot feel that his initially peculiar DJ style has become increasingly intense. The deep settings midway the album including the spinning of a Charles Mingus feature-length piece in its entirety is absolutely overwhelming. A piece packed with inspirations that would completely demolish the expected DJ-ness.
