Three zombies coming from the world after death have completed the smoking odyssey ― the long-awaited first album of Flatbush Zombies who are regarded as the strongest contender in the so-called ‘Beast Coast Movement’; the new-generation Brooklyn scene promoted by musicians such as Joey Badass. It’s already over four years since their debut with the coquettish and grotesque music video of “Thug Waffle.” All of the tracks throughout the whole album, which highlight Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice’s twisted flows following the trail that are seen in the two mixtapes they have released in the past, are produced by Erick the Architect Elliott (who also raps as the third emcee). “R.I.P.C.D” with the remarkable dry drum sounds, and “A Spike Lee Joint” with the sentimental trumpet timbre may be positioned as his best tracks. In addition, those zombies’ smoky and hazy vibes exploding on “Ascension” are off the hook insane! This is a great collection of psychedelia. Sit back, chill and enjoy.
