KIRINJI’s Neo

If asked “what sort of band is KIRINJI?,” then there's nothing to answer but to hand on their latest album. That's what I thought as I listened to “Neo,” which shows their ever-expanding musical breadth. There are dizzyingly colourful moments like the hyper-cute disco pop “Mr. BOOGIEMAN” and “The Great Journey,” an epic dance track that features RHYMESTER. Also, a satisfying number of dazzlingly melodic songs like “Hibi Kore Kanko (meaning Sightseeing Everyday),” where Japanese pop singer kotringo coos, are compelling.
