Recommended Discs:brilliant sounds from 2D and over
I will be introducing this month’s top recommendations here! First off is “Strawberry JAM”, the first full-scale release from voice actor Yui Ogura, who is also one half of the voice actresses unit, YUIKAORI. It is an upbeat and fun album that features her lovely voice and a sense of humor. Songs such as “Get over” that has a melody and strings and will breathe life back into a stopping heart or “Sugar Heartache”, a medium tempo tune sung in a greatly sweet voice provides a great accent to the album, both in terms of sound and singing.
Next is HARUKA TOMATSU’s third release, “Harukarisk*Land”, which has a ‘theme park’ concept. In addition to the anime tie-upped lead tracks, there are six new songs including the opening track “Fan Fun Parade” that sounds like a spirited parade put into music just as the title suggests, a light soul-pop song “No.1 GIRL” and a punkish song about single-minded love produced by HoneyWorks, called “Koi wo Uchinuke (meaning Shoot Through Love)”. It is an album that conjures up a cheerful mood!
The last one is the [Koufuku Graffiti] soundtrack by kotringo. This is a cute and elegant score that is rooted in jazz, post-classical, and electronica. It is truly entrancing. Her cute scat singing amplifies a soft atmosphere that goes with the warm and fuzzy mood of the anime. At the same time, you can feel the charm of her precious voice.
