“Too Young”“Under The Boardwalk”のカヴァーも秀逸だ。

Kantaro Uchida’s Des’e My Blues

Unlike the previous full vocal album, this latest one turns out to be a full instrumental piece. Moreover, it is an extremely technical and emotional collection with all tracks played on bottleneck slide guitars. The basic format is blues, but the tempos or chords shift as they please, and the melodies are as pure as can be as if singing out directly from the fingertips. The cover versions of “Too Young” or “Under the Boardwalk” are sheer excellence. Due to the compact length of 43minutes for 12 tracks, the album gives an impression of being on the sweet and pop side, though all the more so, it is no doubt also a rare selection of blues that can be played casually by younger generations.
