The live performance-focused 6-piece reggae unit TUFF SESSION has unveiled its newest album in 8 years. Singer-cum-violinist Kohei Uchida’s unpretentious vocal and the amiable band sounds are peacefully intact even after all these years. From the opener “Tsukino Utage” (their own version of songstress Joya Landis’ super-famous rocksteady classic “Moonlight Lover”) to the tunes that follow including acoustic guitar and yodeling-ish vocal-filled Hawaiian flavored “Kaju 100% De Yaman Lerihi” or “Red, Gold & Green” in which the compelling singing brings pure simplicity to its height, delivered here is one piece of a wholly heartwarming gem.
