2年ぶりのフル・アルバムは、彼らにとっての転機作に。これまでの楽曲を規定していたメタリックなギターが後退し、代わりに鳴らされるのは空間系のエフェクトが効いたサイケ寄りのサウンド。エコー&ザ・バニーメンの曲と同タイトルの“The Killing Moon”が1曲目を飾っているように、恐らくイメージしたのは80年代のネオ・サイケなのだろう。英国的なメランコリアが、結果的に彼らの歌謡性を引き立ててもいる。

Their first full album in two years transformed the band’s musical career. The metallic guitar sounds that used to set down their music is pulled back, and instead, pro-psychedelic sounds given effects that add a spatial sense are more prominent. As they chose “The Killing Moon” as the opening track, - the same title as the track by Echo & the Bunnymen, they probably had in mind the neo-psychedelia of the 80s. As a result, melancholia in British flavor is also accentuating their musical nature.
