NITE JEWEL's new album, her first in about 4 years, is a collection of quality pop songs with less experimental elements, in which her unconstrained singing blends with sparkling synth sounds. It is filled with many charms such as catchy melodies that one can learn on first-time listens or faintly voluptuous, dreamy soundscapes. It also creates an unrefined but somehow romantic atmosphere that recalls electro-pop of the 80s of the likes of Joe Jackson's "Steppin' Out" or Human League after their release of the mega-album "Dare!"
