2012年のローンチから、瞬く間に次世代のクラブ・シーンを牽引する存在となったネット・レーベル、TREKKIE TRAX。その初CD作品は、主宰者のひとりでもあるTaimei Kawaiがソロ・プロジェクト名義で放つ10曲入りEP。タイトルからもデトロイティッシュな意匠が見え隠れする“Out Of Resistance”や“Journey To The West”、tofubeatsが賛辞を送る“Radarman”など、ベース・ミュージックから派生した多彩なトラック群は性急にビートを刻みながら、時にノスタルジックに響くメロディーラインによって強靭なポップネスも携えている。Pa's Lam System、in the blue shirt、madmaidら同志が手掛けたリミックスも実に痛快。弱冠20歳にしてこれだもの。末恐ろしいとはまさにこのことだ。

Upon its launch in 2012, the internet music label TRAKKIE TRAX immediately grew into a leading entity for the next-generation club scene. The first CD to be released from the label is under the artist name, Carpainter, the solo project name of Taimei Kawai who is one of the main founders on the label. Incorporating tracks such as the ones with a dash of Detroit techno-ish flavor "Out of Resistance" and "Journey To The West", or "Raderman" (highly praised by tofubeats), the 10-tracks EP delivers bass music-rooted multicolored tunes that steadily keep the fast beats yet nostalgic melody line bears sturdy popness while 3 remixes by his comrades (Pa's Lam System, in the blue shirt, madmaid) sound so bracing as well. Considering his tender age of 20, it's almost scary to see what comes next and thereafter.
