Seira Kariya "Nobi Nobi No Style (meaning Unrestrained Style)"
By: Hiromi Go
Long-awaited first EP from the up-and-coming singer-songwriter is released!!
With cute and stylish next-generation girls making their debuts one after another, Seira definitely had a head-start and it’s high time for this front runner to make her new release.
Making her debut in 2012 with her digital single, “Otona ni Naru Mae ni (meaning Before I Become a Grownup),” being featured as the main singer in the producer/DJ/singer tofubeats’ download edition of “Suisei (meaning The Mercury)” (2012) as well as starring in the music video of the track, and also featuring in his “SO WHAT!?” (2013)… the road to stardom has been smooth for Seira Kariya, born 1993. Moving to Tokyo from her hometown in Osaka last year, she guest-starred for the indie dance/disco band, give me wallets, colleagues from her label PUMP!, and had written lyrics for the idol duo, Faint★Star. Now she’s finally released her own long-awaited first physical EP “Nobi Nobi No Style”.
This EP with a total of five songs opens with a lively title song. Seira stays faithful to her usual carefree and effervescent style, and the outcome is an EP full of excellent tracks which brings out her chic vocals in a simple pop arrangement.
Music creator team, agehasprings～FOURseam gave her their full backup, while Kai Takahashi from the indie pop band LUCKY TAPES, did an outstanding arrangement on “Sobani Iru (meaning By Your Side)” of which the lyrics were written by the artist herself. Let’s watch out for Seira’s fresh talent as she nurtures without restraints.
