名前だけ見て誰かの変名?とか思ってしまったのだが……〈シティー・ポップ・レゲエ〉を標榜するシンガーがクニモンド瀧口のプロデュースでデビュー。アーベインな味わいの“Summer Illumination”からトロピカルな流線形の音色が滲み出し、G.RINAやUKOに通じるスウィートな歌い口に、松原みき、石川セリあたりの名前が浮かんでは消えたり。e-muraらのダブも絶妙な心地良さで、ひと夏の思い出にしたくないです。

Natsu Summer…? At first, I thought it’s a funny nickname for someone but actually, is was the official artist name of a self-proclaimed ‘city-pop-reggae’ female singer, and this album, produced by renowned city pop master Cunimondo Takiguchi (known by his moniker, Ryusenkei, meaning ‘streamline’), marks her debut. With tropical streamlined sounds exuding from the urbane-taste tune “Summer Illumination”, the album delivers her sweet vocals akin to such of singer-songwriter-beatmaker G. Rina or neo-dance-pop star UKO, while partly tracing the likes of 80’s iconic female pop singers as Miki Matsubara or Seri Ishikawa. Beatmaker E-Mura-mixed dub tune sounds exquisitely comfortable, and I sincerely wish this piece to earn more recognition than being just one good summer memory.
