Aragehonji “Hanatsuoto (meaning The Sounds Released)

Best known for its specialty, Tohoku minyo (Japanese folk songs originated in the Tohoku/Northeast region)and sounds adopting traditional Japanese rhythms, the highly acclaimed festival rock band releases its much-anticipated latest sound (the album title “Hanatsuoto” literally means “The Sounds Released”) -the first in 3 years. As the spacey modern funk tune “Echo” or the beautiful harmony-embellished “Jumannin no Hashi (meaning Bridge of One Hundred Thousand People)” indicates, the unit is seen making an extensively versatile approach toward mergers of numerous musical borders to eventually create this humongous-scale sound. The new album successfully discloses its further-evolved figure as a real dance rock band alive in the present. Intensely invigorating!
