Ma wo Kanaderu: Masaki Hayashi (P), Aya Horigome (irish hp), Maiko Isobe (vn), Ryoji Orihara (b), Takefumi Kobayashi (perc)  "doux"

The very latest project by pianist Masaki Hayashi is this music assemblage with the free-and-easy name, "Ma wo Kanaderu (meaning Playing the Time and Space/Timeliness)". As the name suggests, the album is characterized by the sound sequences fully capitalizing 'space', and also for regarding the sonic palette created by such sound sequences as part of the musical conditions of this album. The album lays jazz or classical music (and John Cage) as the foundation, while also being approachable as Musica Frontera Argentina, Minas, environmental music or sound effect-like techno, or going even further, haiku or poetry. This music, with its incredibly expanded entrance can, in fact, be considered as an antithesis that is positioned completely opposite to 'instant' music that provides only temporary satisfaction to the mind by 'filling up (occupying)' the said 'time and space'. This piece of work is a rarity that should be appreciated rather by narrowing down the volume when listening and get completely absorbed in it.
