ジャパニーズ・ポスト・ロック界の雄による、実に5年半ぶりのフル・アルバムが到着。アコギやピアノをメイン楽器に据え、反復を基調としたヒップホップ～ネオ・ソウル的な曲調も見られるが、決してただスムースなだけではない、細やかなフレージングや音響の妙にバンドとしての熟成を感じさせる。木村カエラやChara、5lackといった豪華ゲスト陣の参加も話題ながら、味のある歌声を聴かせる山嵜廣和のヴォーカルも健在。

The first full album in five and a half years by Japanese post-rock heroes, toe, has arrived.  The album contains loop-based hip-hop and neo-soul tunes that are based around acoustic guitars and pianos.  The band’s maturation can be heard in the intricate phrasing and unusual textures which are by no means simply smooth.  Amazing guests appearances by the likes of Kaera Kimura, Chara, and 5lack have created a buzz already.  Hirokazu Yamazaki’s tasteful vocals are also vibrant.
