期待の新人をピックアップするXXL誌の人気企画〈XXL Freshman Class〉の2014年版において、チャンス・ザ・ラッパーやタイ・ダラー・サインらと共に選出されていたニューオーリンズはバトンルージュ出身のラッパー。アトランティックとの契約成立から約3年を経て、ようやくメジャー・デビュー・アルバムのリリースに漕ぎ着けた。トレイ・ソングズやジェイミー・フォックスらが参加したデラックス盤のみ収録の“Jam”を除くと、ゲスト・アーティストは皆無という思い切った構成。それでも、しばしばフューチャーやリッチ・ホーミー・クワンらと比較されるメロディアスなシングソング・フロウ（本人はシズラやブジュ・バントンなどレゲエ・シンガー／DJからの影響を公言している）の中毒性もあって単調な印象はなく、なかでも“Hard For”などから聴き取れるブルージーな魅力がアルバムに深い味わいをもたらしている。制作はゴー・グリズリー、クック・クラシックス、フェザーストーンズなど。
