かつてはESCALATORに所属したHARVARDの片割れ、小谷洋輔のソロ・プロジェクトがファースト・アルバムを発表。アルーナ・ジョージやジャスティン・ティンバーレイクらに触発されつつ、世界10都市のホテルで最小限の機材を用いて録音されたという本作。いわゆる〈インディーR&B〉とも言えるモダンなサウンドに、異国での孤独感が加わった内省的な歌が、真夜中の寝室にしっとりと響く一枚だ。

Yosuke Kotani, the 'other half' of new-generation pop duo HARVARD that once belonged to Shibuya-kei indies label ESCALATOR RECORDS, has released his first album under his solo project, YOSUKEKOTANI. Inspired by the likes of AlunaGeorge and Justin Timberlake, this album was recorded with minimum equipment, travelling around 10 cities in various countries of the world. The combination of the 'indie R&B'-like modern sounds and reflective songs coloured by the foreign-land loneliness makes it a wonderfully mellow piece of work, perfect to spin in a midnight bedroom.
