前作『演出家出演』が優れた演奏家集団としての熱量をダイレクトに伝える作品だったとすれば、本作は楽曲のディテールにこだわることで、パスピエのストレンジな魅力をさらに引き出したアルバムと言えそうだ。大胡田なつきの歌詞表現と成田ハネダのメロディーラインに通底する日本的な郷愁とオリエンタリズムは、まだまだリスナーに新しさと懐かしさを同時に運んでくる。つくづくポテンシャルに底が見えないバンドだ。

If their previous release "Enshutsuka Shutsuen (meaning Director on Stage)" was a piece directly conveying the amount of heat as a leading directors' team, this latest one can be regarded as an album further drawing out the strange appeal of this impressionism-oriented pop rock band Passpied, by focusing meticulously on the details of each track. The lyrical expressions by vocalist Natsuki Ogoda and the Japanesque nostalgia and orientalism that forms the basis of the melody lines that keyboardist Haneda Narita creates still continues to bring to the listeners, both the sense of newness and nostalgia at the same time. A band that truly knows no limit to their potential.
