〈MTV Video Music Awards 2020〉が、現地時間2020年8月30日に米NYCブルックリンで開催された。
MTVが主催するミュージック・ビデオの祭典〈MTV Video Music Awards〉、通称〈VMAs〉。今年は新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）のパンデミックを受け、医療従事者のパフォーマンス部門〈Everyday Heroes: Frontline Medical Workers〉、自宅で制作されたMV部門〈Best Music Video From Home〉、自宅でのパフォーマンス部門〈Best Quarantine Performance〉という新たなカテゴリーが設けられた。
〈VMAs 2020〉にはウィークエンド、ダベイビー、マイリー・サイラス、マルーマ、レディー・ガガ、BTS、ドージャ・キャット、キキ・パーマー、ブラック・アイド・ピーズらが出演してパフォーマンスを披露した。パフォーマンス映像は〈VMAs〉のオフィシャルサイトで観ることができる。
〈VMAs 2020〉は、8月28日に逝去した俳優のチャドウィック・ボーズマンに捧げられた。
