Katteni-Shiyagare & Toshimi Watanabe "PLAY"
The first collaboration between the solitary jazz punk band and Toshimi Watanabe of THE ZOOT16 (and also active member of Japanese hip hop unit TOKYO No.1 SOUL SET) in 8 long years has finally borne fruit as an album steaming with masculine spirit. Including the nice-and-sunny reggae-rhythmed tune "Shine Sunshine", the punkish mariachi-taste instrumental "El Sol" of which those-in-the-know will recognize the snippets of the theme melody of [Hissatsu Shigotonin] (the Japanese jidaigeki series about a team of hired assassins=shigotonin), the album proudly lines up emotional killer tunes, entirely focused on bringing tears to the eyes of men.
