陽射し降り注ぐビーチから砂埃舞うロードへ。開放感満点のミニ・アルバム『渚にて』に次ぐ新作は、アーシー度の高い素敵なロックンロール特集だったから驚き。塚本功、カジヒデキ、ハチマが紡ぐ乾いたグルーヴに合わせてスウィングする小島さんがとにかくハンサム。“モビー・ディック”や“モダン・ラヴァーズ”といった自由な空気を纏ったロック・チューンを聴いていると無性に旅に出たくなる。掛け値なしにカッコイイ。

Kojima Mayumi - "On the Road"
Just like a fun trip from stunning sun-drenched beach to whitey dusty road, following the previous, 100% wide-open relaxing mini-album "Nagisa nite (meaning On the Beach)", this latest release gracefully conveys a full array of earthy rock'n'roll to my wonderful surprise. Nicely in sync with the dry groove by her solid backup trio: Isao Tsukamoto, Hideki Kaji and Yoshihiro Hachima (Hatch Hatchell), comfortably swinging Kojima looks just downright handsome. Feeling free rock tunes like "Moby Dick" and "Modern Lovers" definitely make me want to travel anywhere. Absolutely super cool.
