The vocalist/guitarist of three-piece rock band GREAT3, Akito Katayose has been added as the general producer for DAOKO’s revamped production team. This recent high-school graduate female rapper’s major label debut comes just two months after her last release. With synth-tracks following the latest urban trend by Hideya Kojima from the boy/girl neo-pop unit ORESAMA or Sapporo-based producer PARKGOLF at its core, DAOKO’s fragile voice resonates with a mellow feel throughout the album. Lyrically, as in the track “Yumeutsutsu (meaning In Between Dream and Reality)” which DAOKO addresses her insecurity in the existence of her own self, she philosophically speculates with a fresh sensibility in many of her songs.
