“Sound! Euphonium” tie-in release!
By Mayumi Tsuchida
“Sound! Euphonium” is a teen drama that takes place in the brass band club of Kitauji High School in Uji, Kyoto. A soundtrack and a single track by the characters featuring the four freshmen are released at once!
“Character Song vol.1” includes two character songs accompanied by the melodious sounds of euphonium, sung by Kumiko Omae (character voice by Tomoyo Kurosawa). One of the tracks is “Ashita e no Euphony (meaning Euphony Towards Tomorrow)”, a song that sings about their longing toward [an incomplete future].

The next up “Volume 2” includes two tracks sung by Hazuki Kato (character voice by Ayaka Asai), one of which is “Hyper Tune♪” with a funny chorus that goes “whoo♪whoo♪” and an upbeat melody of the tuba.

For “Volume 3”, Sapphire Kawashima (character voice by Moe Toyota) sings two songs including “Ryusen Contrast (meaning Streamline Contrast),” a proper idol pop song supported by nonchalant contrabass. For “Volume 4”, Reina Kousaka (character voice by Chika Anzai) sings two tracks including “Shinkyo Projector (meaning Heart Resonate Projector)”, a competition of glamorous trumpet and powerful vocals. To top it off, all volumes includes “Kitauji Shijuso (eng. Kitauji Quartette)” as the third track which features each character’s instrument, adding a great touch to the story’s nostalgia!

“Omoide Music (meaning Memory Music),” a soundtrack by Akito Matusda has also been released simultaneously. This album includes brass band music and an array of scores used in the animation. Gentle tracks that will overlap with everyday life will give the listeners access to their memories (teenage years especially).
