[English Translation]
A group as many as 16 snazzy guys which also gained attention for the solo albums of its members, IO and YOUNG JUJU, KANDYTOWN has finally made its major debut. Its first major-label album basically follows the same attitude as its past independent streetwise productions including "BLAKK MOTEL" or "Kruise." Tracks in the latest, however, are all written by the group members, such as Neetz, MIKI, RYOHU, and YUSHI. It accounts for a sound that further distils their aesthetic. The best picks include "R.T.N" and "Get Light" with a sprinting funk sound as well as the soulful strings and percussion of "Beautiful Life.” On top of that, the members’ characteristic rapping style that takes turns weaving lyrical fragments of their background is a real thrill if not a cinematic charm. This is an album that embodies latent stylishness in the Japanese hip hop scene.
