After releasing their works at their own pace and taking their 3rd anniversary as the great opportunity, DE DE MOUSE’s self-owned record label - not record – has dropped multiple new releases in a sweep!
The first release is this EP called “youth 99” in which he expressed his love for dance music that he listened a lot to as a teenager. Along with the acid breaks that doubles its speed during the track, “youth 99” is full of chaotic energy which reminds us of early rave music. The other EP, “milkyway drive” is a collection of re-edited versions of tracks they have already been performing in past live shows. Popular musical numbers such as “east end girl” are reborn as perfect-for-the-dancefloor techy tracks. Exciting!
And this time, not record has newly welcomed Phoenix and the Flower Girl, the solo-project by Phoenix Troy who is known for collaborating with Seiho (DJ/VJ/beatmaker) and Tomggg (producer/composer) respectively. With the support of artists recently popular on the internet such as Ryuuta Takaki (track maker) from LOW HIGH WHO? PRODUCTION or Brooklyn-based musician MAXO, Phoenix created this debut EP “Nala” into a trendy collection of his works that intertwines his soothing vocal, rap, and futuristic synthpop tracks.
Last of all is the 6th album “FAMILY DANCING” by YMCK. This band has kept pouring their passion into 8-bit music ever since they formed. As you can see from the artwork with the Saturday-Night-look, the theme of this album is dance music. The album contains a number of danceable tracks arranged with beeps and bleeps in a pop manner. Among those, the cover of “Disko Kitsch” fits the theme just right! This disco pop was originally created by a Thai musician Cyndi Seui who has been in a long friendship with YMCK for a long time. Though each EP/album has a totally different style, DE DE MOUSE has excellent taste that is worth counting on!
