9作目では、浅井健一以外のメンバーによる楽曲にも大注目。特に福士久美子が作詞／作曲と歌を担当した“She”の、メランコリックな浮遊感覚に包まれた美しい世界は絶品だ。単純なリフの繰り返しが大きなうねりを生むリズム、歌心溢れるギター、ミッドテンポ中心のメロディアスな曲調も、期待通りのクォリティーの高さ。このバンドで歌う時こそ、浅井の持つ叙情性がもっとも発揮されることを再確認した。

SHERBETS  “Kirei na Chi (meaning Pure/Clean Blood)”

Songs written by members other than Kenichi Asai are gaining attention on this ninth release by SHERBETS.  The melancholic masterpiece、”She” written and composed by Kumiko Fukushi is wrapped in a floating world.  The repetition of the simple riff that creates a swell of rhythm, the sentimental guitar, and the mid-tempo melody are of high quality as expected.  The album reaffirms how Asai’s lyricism is at it’s best when singing for this band.
